Fabric frolic

Friday saw Rosalie and I set off to "Fabric Frolic". we hit Ringwood, Boronia, Warburton and Lilydale and my haul of goodies and freebies is pictured here. The scissors were for my secret sewing(love these as they are so sharp. Lilly Patches in Boronia) I got two patterns , some material for the quilt as you go and some tilda stuff that is like vliesefix but that stayed in the car till about an hour ago. Both Rosalie and I won(for being first at the counter) some templates but we have to go back to get those as the supplier let the shops down and still has to send them. Shame, that means another trip to some lovely shops.

The inside of my swap, the scissors are just peeking out. A few more goodies are in there and once packed will be in the post.

I have already got the "Ribbit" stitcheries ready to go(iron on transfers make life so easy) so this afternoon I aim to start one of them. This will be for DS1's best mate who will be a dad for the second time in August.

Yesterday and Saturday I spent hours putting the qag together. I now have to make the cover strips and can do some flowers on some of it. Think this will be put away for a while so I can concentrate on Ribbit.
Enjoy Australia Day.

Yeah I did it I think.

MAKE THE 7 STEP PLEDGE

I Elliek will try my utmost...
·        To always swap on time.
·        To always email a THANK YOU to my partner.
·        To be considerate and thoughtful when choosing a gift.
·        To give my partner the quality of gift that I would like to receive.
·        To communicate when it’s required.
·        To NEVER over commit and let a partner down.
·        To advise the swap mama when I receive my gift.

This I sewomly pledge....

Thanks to Jo I think I have got this up. I don't do many swaps but I do think that if you go into one then the above steps are needed.

I really have been sewing...

.. this is a kit a friend bought me for Christmas. Went together very easily but now I have to quilt it! It's not big so I should be  able to manage it

Some secret sewing..

... some more blocks that will eventually make a quilt as you go quilt. I have all 30 blocks sewn, the backing cut out and am thinking about the cutting of the wadding. This will be  a quilt for DH niece who turns 30 this year....

... and this is going to be  a ring cushion for when my eldest daughter gets married. The ribbon when attached will tie on the rings(of course) and I would like to just add a small butterfly amongst the roses. This is a free pattern from Jenny of elefantz and I really enjoyed sewing it. Thanks Jenny for sharing so freely.
Now I just have to get myself organised and finish all the above items.
